Army, police establish committee to investigate Yobe clash between police & soldiers

The Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police Force have set up a committee to investigate the clash between the security operatives in Yobe state.

Some police offices and military officers on Wednesday engaged in a shootout in Damaturu, Yobe state over a yet to be ascertained issue

Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Colonel Kayode Ogunsoya, said this in a statement.

He said, “The attention of this Headquarters has been drawn to an unfortunate incident that happened between some unguided soldiers and policemen in Damaturu this morning.

“A joint committee between the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Police has been set up  to investigate the incident.

“This Headquarters wishes to assure the members of the public that the situation has been brought under control and normalcy has been restored.”
