The Presidency is confused as Buhari's aide & Osinbajo's aide release confusing statements on swearing in of two new ministers

The Presidency seems to very confused at the moment as the aides of both President Buhari and Vice (Acting) President Yemi Osinbajo, has released confusing statements on the swearing in or not swearing in of two new ministers on Wednesday.

Two new ministers-designate – Stephen Ocheni and Suleiman Hassan, have been confirmed by the Senate for weeks now but has not been sworn in basically due to Buhari's absence.

Then there were reports that Osinbajo will swear them in on Wednesday.

However, Buhari’s Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, came to say the reports are false.

He said this in a series of tweets this evening.

He wrote, “the story that Femi Adesina, Laolu Akande and I provided confirmation that two new ministers are to be sworn in tomorrow is false.

“As spokespersons, we report that which has been given to us. As it is at the moment, we have received no such information.”

But the media aide to the Acting President. Laolu Akande, almost immediately, took to his own Twitter to displace what Shehu said.

In his own tweet, Akande wrote, “Acting President Osinbajo would be swearing in the two new ministers already confirmed by the Senate tomorrow morning at start of the Federal Executive meeting.”

Then in reaction to both Akande and Shehu’s tweet, the Presidency on Twitter wrote, “In line with Garba Shehu’s tweet, no confirmation was provided on this matter by the spokespersons AT THEIR PRESS BRIEFING earlier today.

“Garba Shehu’s tweet stands. The confirmation of tomorrow’s swearing-in is a new development, not discussed at the press briefing earlier today.”

Then more confusing tweets followed.
