#HurricaneHarvey: Beyonce reportedly donates $7m, Kardashians $500,000 for relief

The Kardashian family are reported to have donated half a million dollars to relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.

According to TMZ, Kim, Kris, Khloe, Kendall, Kylie and Kourtney gave $500,000 to Red Cross and Salvation Army on Tuesday.

Sources close to the family reportedly said the money will be wired and distributed evenly.

Beyonce had earlier pledged her support to the victims of Hurricane Harvey in Houston, where she is from, saying she will consult with her foundation BeyGOOD and her pastor, Rudy Rasmus.

She said:
"My heart goes out to my hometown, Houston, and I remain in constant prayer for those affected and for the rescuers who have been so brave and determined to do so much to help.
I am working closely with my team at BeyGOOD as well as my pastor (Rudy Rasmus at St. John’s in downtown Houston) to implement a plan to help as many as we can."
BeyGOOD was launched in 2013 during the Mrs. Carter World Tour. It partners with global charity organizations to get people employed and provide clothing, housing, food and other philanthropic provisions.

Sources claim she had donated $7m, but her pastor, when contacted, refused to confirm the amount, saying she has made "significant donation"
“She’s starting out with a significant donation, and that donation is getting us to launch out into some areas that help us more effectively impact the communities that have been the most affected,” Rasmus said in an interview with ET. “She has, over the years, been very generous to our cause, and we continue to work together. She has been a huge benefactor to our efforts here in Houston, Texas.”
Rasmus went on to note that Tina Knowles Lawson, BeyoncΓ©’s mom, has always been charitable when cities are in need.
“When Hurricane Katrina hit, they were present for us,” Rasmus says of the Knowles family. “When Ike devastated Houston, they were present for us, and times in between, so now, won’t be any different. I’m counting on them right now.”

Meanwhile, American rapper Clifford Joseph Harris Jr. popularly known as T.I. has described popular televangelist Joel Osteen as a fraud.

Osteen has been in the news for refusing to open the doors of his megachurch to shelter stranded people from the Hurricane Harvey which has ravaged most of Houston. Although he has finally relented and opened the church doors, people have accused him of doing it only because he was pressured by the media.

In an Instagram post, T.I. calls out the preacher asking him why he would not open the doors to people in times of need. He wrote:
"This is why people (like me) don’t trust the mega churches. How can someone (especially a so called man of God) make 70+Ms a yr TAX FREE from citizens of a city that’s now in distress & in dyer need of food water & shelter NOT OPEN THE DOORS OF GODs HOUSE (supposedly) to help those in need? @joelosteen YOU SIR ARE A FRAUD!!!! Ministers, preachers, pastors, reverends are all supposed to be SERVANTS sent here to do the LORDS work. Not just sitting back in comfort watching as satin has his way!!!! FOH!!! We CANNOT AFFORD to continue to just go & give our money away to people who pose as “Preachers” or their BIG lavish MEGA CHURCHES WITHOUT HOLDING THEM ACCOUNTABLE WHEN WE NEED THEM!!!!!
