Anthony Joshua is afraid of me - Deontay Wilder declares war on world champion

American boxer Deontay Wilder has launched a scathing attack on Anthony Joshua, and demanded a fight with the IBO and WBA world heavyweight champion.

After Joshua dispatched Carlos Takam at the weekend, attention quickly turned to who he will be facing in 2018.

His boxing promoter Eddier Hearn spoke candidly about the prospect of fighting Tyson Fury, Joseph Parker and Wilder next year.
Anthony Joshua
Joshua is yet to face an opponent who has been able to take him to the full 12 rounds and all of his bouts have been in the United Kingdom.

Wilder, similarly has an impressive record with 38 wins and 37 knockouts.

And the WBC world heavyweight champion has already switched his focus to Joshua, claiming the heavy weight champion is ‘hiding’ from him.

“AJ, let’s see who’s the best,” said Wilder. “I dare you all to test me.

“At the end of the day, who’s the best? I’m the best. I declare war. Are you up for the test?

“As soon as they accept the fight, I’m going to show them. They’re hiding.”

He added: ”They put on distractions. They’re making excuses, because I’m the risk factor.

”I’m a danger to anyone’s career. Guys I fight, I end their careers. I’m a risky person to fight, and that’s why Hearn and Joshua are avoiding me.

“They got a little thing going on. It’s a money thing. They are making all these excuses that have nothing to do with the sport of boxing.”

Deontay Wilder
Deontay Wilder is the WBC world heavyweight champion. But after 38 consecutive victories, he still remains an unknown quantity to many within the boxing world and a complete unknown to many on its periphery.
