In the words of the organizer of the event, Theresa Ushibema Udie:

Theresa Ushibema Udie
This year's program is a faithful follow-up to the tremendous success of last year's event, at which I expressed sincere and heartfelt gratitude at the exceedingly warm reception accorded the maiden edition, and made a solemn promise that I would sustain the tempo in an annual outing that would continue to significantly contribute to the development of my state, the Cross River State of Nigeria, using the motivational and civic empowerment of the youths of the state as a platform.

Unique as the innovation is, the ideals on which it is founded are by no means new. This is because no society can function effectively without a leadership. Therefore, since the event aims to showcase the leaders of Cross River State to the younger generation as mentors and role models, the underlying philosophy of the program is simply for these leaders to impart their own valuable life lessons on these younger ones, so as to help nurture and build them up for their own future success. Since it is practically impossible to have all the youths of the state at such a forum, the attendees are envisaged to leave the event sufficiently inspired to share their new-found knowledge with their peer group, friends, family and the community at large.

In a society in which the youths see government functionaries as practically inaccessible, and view them as dignitaries they can never be privileged to relate with with at close quarters, the entire concept is backed by my overall vision to offer the younger generation an opportunity to meet with these leaders and representatives in a social ambience that totally eliminates the formality of rigid protocol, all in an attempt to foster a pleasant atmosphere for learning and interaction.

In my sincere view, the common cliche "the children of today are the leaders of tomorrow" cannot be allowed to be a mere illusion. We must nurture our youths to become dreamers of a greater tomorrow. We must teach them that, by sheer dint of hard work and unflinching determination, they can manage to epitomize the well-worn phrase that "dreams do come true," which is why the sub-theme for this year is " Dream Your Life, Live Your Dream."

Therefore, quite apart from making them more conscious of their civic responsibilities, this novel forum will also seek the purpose of actively engaging their creative vision for a greater tomorrow by instilling in them the principles of self-leadership, the tenets of entrepreneurial self-reliance, and most importantly, the core values of integrity and hard work.
