Pope Francis hit by object thrown from crowd before Mass in Chile (Video)

Pope Francis was hit by an item thrown from the crowd as he greeted crowds from the popemobile today.

The Pontiff was on his way to an open-air Mass in Chile’s capital, Santiago, on Wednesday when an item believed to be a piece of clothing or towel hit him on the left side of his face.

The 81-year old who appeared to be unharmed, still maintained a smile as he waved to worshipers as though nothing had happened.
