Dino Melaye reacts to FG's charges against him as he's set to be arraigned on March 1

Senator Dino Melaye has reacted to the report that the Federal government has filed charges against him for falsely accusing the chief of staff of Kogi state governor, David Edward Onoja, of plotting the assassination attempt on his life in April 2017.

Dino has vowed to fight the Federal government and the Kogi state government with his last blood. He says if he dies in the process, so be it.

Meanwhile, The Federal Government will on March 1, 2018 arraign the Kogi West Senator before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja on two counts of giving false information about an assassination attempt on his life to the police in April 2017. 

The office of the Attorney General of the Federation filed the charges, marked CR/106/18 on January 31, 2018.

According to the charges signed by Magaji Labaran, the police discovered the alleged falsehood in Melaye’s claim while investigating the senator’s assassination claim. 

In the second count, Melaye was accused of making false statement of facts in a phone conversation with Mr. Mohammed Abubakar, a son of the late former governor of Kogi State, Abubakar Audu, with the intention of harming the reputation of David. 

Melaye was said to have told Abubakar, a son of a former governor of Kogi State in a telephone conversation how he framed Edward Onoja David in the assassination attempt.
