Chris Okotie kicks off presidential campaign few days to elections (Photos, videos)

Founder of the Household of God Church, Rev. Chris Okotie, is still in the race to become the next President of Nigeria.

Okotie had declared his intention to again run for the presidency back in July 2018, on the platform of Fresh Democratic party, FRESH.

The serial presidential candidate made the declaration during Sunday service in his church in the Oregun area of Lagos.

Okotie told the congregation that he had re-emerged from his political hibernation, based on his conviction that Nigeria needed a credible, dependable and a trustworthy man to lead.

The cleric  said he had written to the national chairmen of the two main parties, All Progressives Congress, APC, nor the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, urging them not to field any presidential candidate for this year’s general elections but to adopt him (Okotie) as a consensus presidential candidate.

After APC and PDP refused to adopt him, Okotie went mute and many Nigerians thought he has abandoned his presidential ambition.
However, Okotie has resurfaced with campaign jingles few days to the presidential elections.

This would be the fourth time Okotie is running for president. He first ran for the President under the banner of the Justice Party (JP), after he was schemed out of the National Democratic Party (NDP) primaries elections; he lost to Olusegun Obasanjo in the 2003 elections. He ran again in 2007 on the platform of a party he founded, Fresh Democratic party, FRESH and lost to Umaru Yar'Adua in the 2007 elections. Then in 2011, he ran and lost to Goodluck Jonathan.
