Nigerians demand death sentence for killer policemen after officers killed a young lady in Ajegunle

Nigerians are demanding capital punishment for police officers who killed innocent citizens.

This is coming after policemen killed a 20-year old woman Ada Ifeanyi, in the Ajegunle area of the state.

One Emmanuel Akomafuwa, 32, who was in the car with Ada is said to be battling for his life in the hospital after suffering gunshot wounds on his head.

This recent killing comes few days after police officers killed Kolade Johnson at a sport viewing centre in Lagos.

The Lagos State Police Command has dismissed Inspector Ogunyemi Olalekan, the policeman who shot Kolade dead and he's being prosecuted.

Meanwhile, the Lagos Police said it has arrested five of its officers involved in the killing of Ada Ifeanyi.

The command also declared one Inspector Dania Ojo wanted for the crime, Punch reports.

The policemen arrested were identified as: Inspector Adamu Usman, Sergeant Adeyeye Adeoye, Sergeant Kashim Tijani, Sergeant Lucky Akigbe and Sergeant Paul Adeoye.

In a statement by the state’s Police PRO, Bala Elkana, the command said the officers are facing internal disciplinary action, adding that prosecution would follow if they’re found wanting.

However, Nigerians want police officers found guilty of recklessly killing innocent citizens sentenced to death for murder.
