Three teen boys from Imo, Abia, Osun emerge JAMB highest scorers

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), on Saturday released the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

And out of the 1,826,360 candidates that sat for the exam in April 11 to April 18, three teens emerged with the highest score..

Premium Times reports that a 15-year old Ekene Franklin from Imo state scored the highest mark of 347, while 16-year-old Emmanuel Chidiebube from Abia state emerged the second highest scorer with 346 mark.

17 year old Isaac Olamide from Osun State trailed behind with 345, considered by the board as the third best result in the 2019 UTME .

JAMB Registrar, Professor Is-haq Oloyede, who made the announcement in Abuja, said little Franklin might not be admitted by University of Lagos (UNILAG) which he chose as his first choice institution for being underage except he changes institution.

Oloyede disclosed that 1,886,508 candidates registered for the 2019 UTME, where 1,826,360 sat for the examinations and 59,667 absent, and results of 1,792,719 were released.

Results of 34,120 results were withheld and 15, 145 results of identical twin undergoing scrutiny.

In all 2,906 candidates scored over 300 as against 4,683 in 2018.
