Nigeria's Falcons beat Niger Republic 15-0 in WAFU Women’s Cup, set new goal record


Nigeria’s Super Falcons got their biggest win in the WAFU Women’s Cup after hammering neighboring  Niger Republic 15-0 in the quarter final of the competition to progress into semi-final

At first half, the scoreline stood at 9-0; the team’s previous biggest win, when they beat Sierra Leone some 25 years ago.

Six more goals in the second half and Thomas Dennerby had secured a semi-final spot in the tournament, scoring the highest number of goals in a single match in Women’s football on the continent.
