Customers burn products of COZA businessman for defending Fatoyinbo as Stella Damasus reveals how the pastor raped her friend

The rape allegations against pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) may be taking another twist as anyone who tries to publicly defend him will incur the wrath of some Nigerians, especially if you're a member of his church or a friend.

The first culprit is Wale Jana, who is the CEO of Sapphire Group and a member of COZA.

Jana has incurred the wrath of his customers over his defensive stance on the rape allegations against his  pastor.

In the wake of the rape claims against Fatoyinbo by Busola Dakolo, a celebrity photographer and wife of Timi Dakolo, Jana had dismissed her narrative of  Busola Dakolo, as “porous”. He also criticized the duo on the premise of their past romantic involvements.
“Timi and Busola Dakolo are not saints, she was a choir member and Timi was a choir leader in church when she got pregnant with her first baby. Timi denied that they weren’t having an affair and then she got pregnant the second time,” he had written in a now-deleted post.

“That was when the church forced them to get married. This chorister was sleeping with her choirmaster and was a baby mama with two kids before they got married.

“These are morally bankrupt people and all that talk in the video will not hold water under cross-examination. Timi and Busola have a lot of skeletons and they both live in glass houses and they are busy throwing stones.”
Following his comments, two of his customers to social media platforms to share videos where they can be seen destroying expensive wares and jewelry purchased from his store.

They also reportedly dubbed him a “bum kisser” and a “rapist’s apologist”, swearing never to patronise his brand again.

After the backlash and brand damage that met his comments, Jana issued a statement of apology.
“There has been lots of misunderstanding due to my earlier post. I apologize to everyone my previous post has offended as it is insensitive to the victims of rape,” he wrote via his social media handles.
"Its important to clarify that I DON'T SUPPORT RAPE! I am a father of two lovely daughters and a beautiful wife.

"I am surrounded by women; Sapphire Group is made up of close to 1000 women and we have done a lot for women empowerment and will continue to do so.

"I apologise to everyone my previous post has offended as it is insensitive to victims of rape. Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo has also come out to refute the allegations leveled against him, it is now a legal matter and the truth will come to light.

"Please accept my apologies and I will be more sensitive in the future."
Despite his apology, some still insist they will no longer patronise the businessman.

A huge number of Nigerians have demanded that Fatoyinbo step down from his position as the senior pastor, using the hashtag #PastorStepDown.

They also vowed to storm the headquarters of his church in Abuja on Sunday to protest.

Meanwhile, Nollywood actress Stella Damasus, had taken to her Twitter account to narrate how the COZA pastor raped a friend she had known for 15 years.

“I’m in tears right now. Just got off the phone with someone I have known for 15 years. She had the same experience with this same pastor. The details of her experience were so shocking,” she wrote.

“She told people around him but they suppressed it. Are people still doubting this incident?”

This is not the first time that the pastor would be accused of rape or having sexual encounters with church members.

Meanwhile, Fatoyinbo has denied the allegation, attributing it to his enemies. He also threatened to press charges against those who have come up with such “fallacious” claims

“The leadership of the church and I have briefed our lawyers to commence criminal and civil actions against all individuals making such false allegations whether directly or by proxies,” he said.
