Lampard is favourite to replace Sarri as the Italian joins Juventus

Chelsea have confirmed that Maurizio Sarri has left the club after one season as head coach and joined Juventus.

The Serie A announced Sarri as new manager on Sunday, just minutes after Chelsea announced his exit

Sarri succeeds Max Allegri in the Allianz Stadium.

The 60-year-old joins after the Blues won the Europa League final in his final match.

They beat Arsenal 4-1 in Baku to clinch Sarri’s first ever silverware of his managerial career.

The Blues also finished third in the Premier League and reached the EFL Cup final.

Meanwhile, Chelsea legend, Frank Lampard is leading in the race to replace Sarri as manager of the London club.

Lampard has emerged as the frontrunner to take over from Sarri after a positive first year in management at Derby County.

Chelsea will now approach Derby for talks with Lampard in the hope of appointing him.
